The union of two exquisite voices that meld effortlessly into a single, mellifulous whole, steeped in the warmth of acoustic guitars and piano, stirred with the melodic tradition of the sixties and peppered with savvy urban lyricism.
Bio / Background
Molly Pitcher is the space where two women from different countries, backgrounds and religions meet in a recipe for sweet musical harmony, each bringing her own style and influences to the table. Together, the women of Molly Pitcher are that very rare combination of honesty and electricity; direct and approachable, yet thrilling to hear...
Drawing inspiration from both her native England and her teenage years in Virginia, Victoria tells touching and personal stories in a fusion of Elizabethan ballads and jazz-tinged laments. Rebekah brings an urban sophistication to the traditional folk style, creating a litany of melodic ballads that speak deeply to the human condition.
Watching the Rain is Molly Pitcher's debut album. Produced by Wade Tonken, this shimmering collection features eleven tracks steeped in the warmth of acoustic guitars and piano, stirred with the melodic tradition of the sixties and peppered with savvy urban lyricism.
↓ more ↓Resting on this lush foundation is the crowning glory of this record - the union of the two exquisite voices belonging to Ms. Fischman and Ms. Lavington that meld effortlessly into a single, mellifluous whole.
"The subtle genius of Molly Pitcher is that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts... We have been given a collective glimpse into the hearts, minds and souls of two very special women. The ease with which they open such a gate... only adds to the gratitude you can't help but feel as an audience member."
-Gregg Podolsky, Liner Notes, WRSU-FM
