↓ more ↓Two selections, Colors and Changes, have already received national and international airplay. The new arrival weighs in with 8 original Loving compositions, 45 minutes of pleasure, enlightenment, good music, and thought provoking lyrics: Changes, Am I Asking Too Much, Some Things Never Change, Colors, Horror Flick, Is It Just Me, Headz Up, and Nature's Way.
Since the age of four, when his mother made him a guitar out of a two-by-four, copper wire and nails, Mac Loving, Jr. has shown an uncanny ability for stringed instruments, At the age of ten, he was willed his first 'real' guitar by his great aunt and he has never looked back. Determined to succeed, Mac attended the Chicago Conservatory where his natural writing ability, playing, singing and production skills were enhanced. Mac Loving Jr. is the typical 'overnight success' with 30+ years in the music industry.
He performs his multi-cultural, multi-generational music, to audiences everywhere, telling stories and that fill the void found in today’s music.
In addition to his busy performing schedule, Mac can usually be found at the engineering console in the HumP Dyddi Cyti Kreationz Recording Studio developing new artists, and creating new material. Previous bands include Back To Earth, The Arc, P.H.D., and Loves Army.
Mac was formerly band director for Dennis Edwards and Otis Clay. He was also a member of the Afro Latin Jazz group, the Pharaohs, the Brides of Funkenstein, the James Brown Band and the original, historic, Regal Theater Band under famed conductors Red Saunders and George Hunter.
Musically mentored by such greats as James Brown, Phil Cohran, Dr. Eckstein (Philadelphia Philharmonic Orchestra), and Hank Ballard, Mac has played with such renowned artists The Meters, Brook Benton, Tyrone Davis, Garland Green, Chi-Lites and the S.N.A.P. Band.
In the past couple of years, Mac and HumP Dyddi Cyti have ridden the writing and production waves with several national radio commercials for Schlitz, Colt 45, and St. Ides Malt Liquors, local political ads in Chicago, theme music for the Las Vegas based, internationally syndicated, Amie Jo Show and providing tracks and material for several national recording artists. Mac works behind the scenes writing jingles, lecturing, serving as a TV talent coordinator, and producing projects for many Chicago and Las Vegas artists.
Mac co-wrote and co-produced uplifting The Sons of Daniel single, I’m Blessed. He also served as an associate producer on The Follow Your Dreams television show. Most recently, he sat in with Lady J and recorded a sizzling track on her new CD, Mean Stud Lover's Blues.
Some comments heard about Mac Loving, Jr.
“Best guitar player I’ve ever heard”
”Refreshing content, unique sound, like no other “
“Unbelievable sound”
”First guitar player that I’ve heard sound like that where
I didn’t pay $50 for the ticket"
THIS IS FUTURISTIC NOSTALGIA, CLASSIC STORIES OF THE FUTURE WITH FLAVA OF THE PAST, FOOD FOR THOUGHT MUSIC THAT TELLS THE TRUTH.
When Mac expanded HumP Dyddi Cyti and the Soul 2 Keep Band west to Las Vegas from Chicago, long time member, Suzan Chatims made the trek also.
Vocalist, and Soul 2 Keep co-founder, Suzan Chatims, is also a talented actress, songwriter and vocal coach. A member of the Chicago cast of Showboat, Suzan toured internationally with the New Age Theater Company. Her performances with Chicago's Black Ensemble Theater earned a nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical. Suzan's recording credits include radio and television jingles, the Harold Washington Memorial Project album and the R. Kelley soundtrack for Batman and Robin.
Adding a little Cajun flair on vocals is Coy Shinn from Franklin, Louisiana. Singing, naturally, has been his lifelong passion as his father, and inspiration, is the legendary musician, GG Shinn. Coy sings all styles of music: country, rock, oldies, blues, but mostly he enjoys soul music, particularly that of Ronald Isley.
Trinidadian, Gordon Henderson on drums brings a little Caribbean spice to the group while holding its heartbeat. He kicked off his performing career touring for two years on the Sky Princess and the Carnival Cruise Lines. Classic rock, funk, reggae, calypso and swing jazz, he can play it all.
Randy Jones holds the bottom on bass guitar. RJ entertained audiences from the Midwest to the West Coast before relocating to Las Vegas from Colorado. Randy moves from rock & roll, to jazz, rhythm and blues with ease.
