Bio / Background

Mixed Company is made up of interracial husband and wife duo, Bill Humphrey(composer,all keyboards, alto and soprano sax, musical arranger) and Jessica Rechner, vocals, with Mike Jett on drums. It is a combination of their musical cultures: Gospel, Classical, Jazz, Rock, African, as well as Brazillian and Reggae. As an African American Christian, Bill often felt he had to choose which style or culture he would worship in. Being in an interracial marraige with a wife who is a singer further complicated the matter. He believes God put on his heart an idea to musically blend their cultures. To reach out to someone who is different than themselves,like Christ reached out to the world. Bill and Jessica hope this can show different cultures that we can unite using our differences to praise the Lord. We are after all one body in Christ.
