Bio / Background
This Christmas was recorded as a result of the unprecedented success Michel experienced with his version of O Holy Night, released to radio independently in 2004. The song was universally praised and played on radio stations across North America and prompted the president of Universal Music, Canada to ask Michel to contribute a song to the 2005 edition of the extremely popular series of annual compilations of Christmas music by Canadian artists.
Encouraged by this response, Michel set aside work on his album, BÉRUBÉ (now scheduled for release in 2007 and featuring an unusual but lovely French/English duet with musical icon Chrissie Hynde) to record some of his favorite Christmas tunes.
The tremendous variety of Christmas music available gave Michel the chance to feature his diversity as a singer.
