Mat d. and the Profane Saints "Mermaid" EP marks a depature for songwriter Mathew deRiso. Ditching the less is more/DIY production model of his self-produced acoustic EP "Drugstore Mermaid", Mat d. emerges out of the cold basement and into the land of Hi-Fi featuring the production talents of the irrepressible multi-instrumentalist Kurt Mullins and drummer Jeff Deignan. Mat d. offers up 5 alternative country and folk rock gems sure to please the more discerning listeners of down home hillbilly boogie rock and blues with plenty of earth bound ambition and dark rural grit to boot.
