Bio / Background
MaShica Winslow is one of Baltimore's greatest singers. At the tender age of twenty-three, she has an accomplished performance track in singing many genres of music. MaShica was raised in a loving Christian family by grandmother, Vashti Hunt, and her thirteen-year old mother, Baltimore gospel legend Sherry Hunt. Sherry discovered MaShica's talent at the early age of three when she began matching pitches that her mother sang to her.
MaShica grew up in Edmonson Village, West Baltimore, and attended the Baltimore School for the Arts. Much of her training there was directed toward classical voice, but in her spare time she would listen to gospel and R&B music. In 2001, she graduated from Morgan State University with a degree in classical music performance. While at Morgan, MaShica served as a section leader and featured soloist on selections with varying degrees of difficulty and stylistic approach.
