THE FIRST FIVE is the brand new CD by singer/songwriter Mary Abraham, released on her own A Plank in the Eye Music record label. Drawing from such a diverse well of influences (Johnny Cash, Morrisey, Cat Stevens, Marvin Gaye, Bjork, Rufas Wainwright and The Pretenders) has no doubt contributed to her sparkling alternative pop sound. And it certainly hasn't hurt her songwriting either, as Mary has won countless Honorable Mention Awards in the 2003 and 2004 Billboard Song Writing Contests, and was the Runner-Up in the 2004 Recording Academy's Grammy Demo Review & Contest.
