Guitar driven rock and roll
Bio / Background
Marwood is Benji Rogers (vocal/guitar), Rob Overbey (guitar/vocal), Brett Conti (bass/vocal) and Mike Talbot (drums). The band is based in New York City's East Village with roots spanning from Tennessee to Europe. This diverse quartet has been performing all over NYC at venues including The Knitting Factory, CBGB's and The Mercury Lounge, as well as selling out downtown venues The Village Underground and Pianos.
Marwood's music might be described as soulful and melodic but with big drums that get you out of your seat and loud guitars that put your hands up in the air. At the core, the band will simply say it's good rock & roll. Fans confess that Marwood writes memorable tunes that they can't stop humming after the first listen.
Radio stations are quickly catching on. The track "Soulless" has gotten spins on NYC's Q104.3 FM (Clear Channel), where Marwood was named one of the top local bands of the year.
↓ more ↓The band can also be heard on XM Satellite radio and numerous college stations throughout the East.
2005 is already promising to be a huge year for Marwood. A new 6-song EP hit the streets in April and the boys have a ton of shows lined up, including a run of dates in Europe. They plan to make sure the whole world gets to hear what they can do.
Watch out for Marwood - you can't miss 'em!
