Bio / Background
Marvalinn is singer/songwriter that writes contemporary worship music. Her style has been influenced by such Christian artists as Israel Houghton and Richard Smallwood. The keyboard and flute and are her primary instruments.
She is currently one of the worship leaders at Harvest Christian Church located in Detroit. She usually leads a Sunday service once a month.
Marvalinn was also recently announced the American Idol Underground Big Push 2 faith-based winner in June 2007 http://www.idolunderground.com/Pages/BigPush2Winners.aspx
This competition takes place over the internet where listeners choose their favorite song. “Press On” was the song that secured the #1 spot for Marvalinn. American Idol Underground is in partnership with the produces of the television show American Idol.
Marvalinn is a native Detroiter and currently resides in Detroit with her husband and three children.
