African born composer Malele (pronounced Ma/lay/lay) has created something new and exciting in the world of music with his Rhythm of Life album. If you are a fan of world music, or if you enjoy original and challenging music full of imagery, you will surely want to add this CD to your collection.
Malele was born in the Congo. When he was 4, his parents sent him to Belgium with the desire to give him a better education. To cope with the sadness of being away from his parents, he turned to music and learned to play the piano. At the age of 12, he also learned to play the guitar and the electric bass.
Rhythm of Life is extraordinary all the way through. It is an instrumental effort that uses Malele’s creative arrangements to showcase an amazing array of styles.
The compositions are a strong point of this album.
