Bio / Background
Maggie has been singing and playing the piano since she was a child. She enjoyed opportunities to use her gift in church and at coffee houses, but always loved playing in her own basement and reveled in her favorite artists' music like Karla Bonoff, Joni Mitchell and later Sara McLaughlin and Watermark.
Her journey led her to travel with the USO and Maggie traveled with a troupe to VA hospitals across the U.S. and then overseas to entertain the troops in the Philippines, Okinawa, Korea, Guam, Europe and the Sinai Peninsula. She also performed on the U.S.S. Kennedy aircraft carrier for 5,000 soldiers, and the press as President Reagan landed on board to give his speech at the rededication of the statue of Liberty in NYC, in 1986.
Now Maggie lives with her husband and five children and appreciates singing at Sunday services, as well as providing song for weddings and funerals.
↓ more ↓She feels it is a privilege to be part of ceremonies that are so important and memorable in people's lives.
With the encouragement of her family and friends, Maggie has released a CD that is comprised of newly arranged hymns, an old folk song, a new Christian rock song, and original songs by Paul Clark including one that Maggie wrote words for. It is an eclectic mix that she feels attached to because the songs speak to her, encourage her and always make her "look up". "My prayer is that God will speak to you, encourage you and make you look up too."
