A society bound by literal meaning, calculation, and logic had attained the peak of its existence. Enslaved by their own will to derive logical meaning to life, the people became restless. As they calculated, the unimaginable happened. The artifacts of the dark ages had come to life. The sun, clearing the horizon for the first time in ten thousand years shone down upon their empire causing great panic. Those who could, fled to the lower levels of the cities, while those who were old enough to reason took to their stations. Calculating relentlessly, they had found an equation for which they could not solve. Calling upon the the great mathematicians and the master scientists, they still lacked the answer for which they searched. Only those trapped on the surface could understand the full meaning of what was happening.
