Bio / Background
Isaac Barel and Tomer Raivit formed "Bliss" in 1994 in Israel.
During that year they released, with Drummer Roee (Royal) Shvo and several bass players, a single ("maybe") on an Israeli Indie compilation titled "Indie 4".
In 95' the group released independently a full-length demo album which circulated among fans.
Their Music was heavily influenced by the Seattle Rock scene at the time.
1996 marked the end of phase one for Mad Bliss as they were forced into taking a three-year break.
Phase two began in 1999 as the threesome regrouped, abandoned their early music, started experimenting and discovering their own unique style.
Mad Bliss's music, very much like its name is a stir of emotions and eccentricities; It is a mixture of folk, blues and psychedelia with a basic rock essence.
"Karen's Molested Apple" EP received high praise from music critics and the song "Matti," rose to third place on the 2002 Alternative Music chart of Israel's top rated radio station, "Galgalatz.
↓ more ↓" "Matti" placed ahead of other notable releases such as Beck's "Lonesome Tear" and Nirvana's "You Know You're Right."
The EP was released in October 2002 as a prelude to Mad Bliss's Debut album which is planned for release in 2004. It contains five exclusive tracks which will not be featured on the LP.
