Bio / Background
Live in the Loop is Madahoochi’s long awaited live album. Never a band to believe in greatest hits , Live in the Loop contains six new songs suited to raucous live interpretation , along with the song “Moose” from their first CD ‘Movin’ On’ (1999), “Seems (Like She Loves Me)” from their second disc ’Big Bang Medley’ (2002), and “Once A Day Kiss” from their most recent studio disc ‘In Fantastic Stereo’ (2005), all chosen for their amorphous character in a live setting. In other words, “this ain’t the same old crackers!” With a high focus on energy the new songs on this album rock, roll, and warp, with nary a timid instrument bashed. The release of Live In the Loop (2006) marks a ten year milestone for Madahoochi; to pay homage to the support of their hometown they recorded live at Cicero’s, the St. Louis venue where they’ve made Monday’s part of the weekend for four years.
↓ more ↓This album includes guest musicians Adam Rugo, of the Nuclear Percussion Ensemble on all percussion bashing and Chris Wiser, of the Sugar Free All Stars blowing that ripping sax solo on “No Money”. All other ripping, bashing, and any accidental articulate musical semblance are expertly detonated by guitarist and vocalist Scott Rockwood, Keyboardist and vocalist Shawn Hartung, and bassist Beto Moreno and drummer Joe Winze. If you’ve never heard Madahoochi, this album is the place to start.
