Dark folk songs of obsession, love and death cradled in sublime fingerstyle guitar. Listed in 'Acoustic Guitar Magazine' Reviewers Choice 'Best of 2004' (Feb '05 Issue)
Bio / Background
....before music took over I used to work in outback Australia 1/2 a mile below mining gold and uranium...
At times while underground I would switch off my head lamp and disappear into that utter blackness, just merge into a bodyless nothing .... naturally that got me to thinking . I left the mine and bought a guitar, went broke, busked the bodhran through Canada and Ireland, lost it and then found something more....
....what I found were songs in the paper-mill poisoned lakes of my home town, I found songs in the crystals I once dug for, I found songs for long dead & exploited Chinese pearl divers and in the blue coils of opium they smoked and songs in the obsessions we share most of all.. love and death....
What other folks reckon;
ABC Radio Australia
".. stunning.." & "Bliss for everyone." 4 stars out of 5
Penguin Eggs Magazine (Canada)
"..colorful and sublime.."
"a testament to the rebirth of
fine luthiers across Australia"
Dirty Linen Magazine (USA)
"..
↓ more ↓a gifted guitarist and composer.."
