With their satisfying sophomore release, L.S.D. begin a shift toward more ambient tunes (three of them, one without vocals, fit perfectly within that realm), no doubt partly due to Lum's interest in artists like Steve Roach and Brian Eno. On some tracks, the duo also begin a folksier approach, one that is natural given that such numbers make for more concert-friendly fare and keep the band from being pigeonholed. The gritty dream-pop guitar is still in the mix, although one can sense the subtle shift to the less studio-based sound which would come with Ever. ~ Bryan Reesman, All Music Guide

Love Spirals Downwards are the unconscious mind of ethereal music, evoking forgotten memories with subjective, alien tongues. The sounds drift dreamily through one's thoughts like incense permeates the air -- perhaps the spicy fragrance will seduce you like a lover to its heat, or else it will elude the threshold of perception and weave itself into the mind's strata of buried experiences...
Ardor, the sophomore offering of multi-instrumentalist/producer, Ryan Lum, and vocalist, Suzanne Perry, features the signature swirling guitars, minimal bass lines and slow paced tempos of the burdgeoning Dream Pop genre, but Perry's ethereal style of vocal harmonies set them apart from their more rock-based contemporaries.
