Be slept away to a land where bards sing myths and stories are always true...fireandarose wrote on December 11, 2009
Like all of Louisa John-Krol's albums, this one is filled with songs inspired by old tales, myths, fairy stories, poems almost forgotten--the truest of true stories that ring simply *right* in the heart of each person who allows him or her self to be open to it. If ever you have grasped the fact that myths matter because things can be filled with true--the most important truths, even--without being factual, then you will be hit by it all over again with every song of hers you play. She has a story-teller's talent, which shows in her lyrics, and her voice is much like that of Tori Amos, with the throatiness of someone like Ani DiFranco thrown in. You cannot allow yourself to miss her music. Your life will be poorer for its absence, and enriched by its presence.
