Bio / Background
Elizabeth Lorrey lives for music... whether she's writing, performing, recording, or just curling up on the couch to listen to something new... Music is a constant companion, never relegated to the background.
An obsessive student of the creative process, Elizabeth immerses herself in every aspect of her art:
- writing the music & lyrics
- performing nearly every instrument on the record
- engineering the recording
- designing artwork
- even burning/printing/folding/assembling cds!
The one instrument she won't touch? The drums.
After four years of working with Greg Tourian in their alt-rock band, Crave, it was obvious that no one could be more passionate, creative, and tasteful behind a drumkit.
Together, Elizabeth & Greg approach music with a Samurai philosophy: never draw your sword unless you intend to use it... There is purpose to every note they play.
↓ more ↓With Greg providing the infectious backbeat, 'Gone' is Elizabeth's first single as a solo artist, & the first cut off her forthcoming, full-length cd... A grooving, acoustic gem, and a taste of what's to come...
'Now' is a solo-acoustic version of another album track- just Elizabeth & her guitar- one mic, one take.
Elizabeth penned 'The Wild Rose' as a gift for her sister, who recently built a cabin retreat in the mountains... Its jangling guitars, chugging snare drum, & soaring harmonies quickly became a fan favorite, so it's included as a bonus track...
Music exists to be heard... Give these songs a listen and see what you think!
