Bio / Background
Lori B is a fiery folk diva - part poet, part vitamin, part snake-charmer, and a devout humanist. Her songs are found objects about life, love, loss, longing and the human mystery.
Lori B is in her second incarnation as a singing-songwriter. Born on the tail winds of Hurricane Hazel, she began writing songs on the piano at age 14. She kept her music a secret through young adulthood and, after college, Lori B fell musically silent.
During those years, she drove a tractor-trailer around America, delivering furniture and household goods. Then she worked in the movie business for a decade, in Hollywood and New York. Finally, uncomfortable with the emptiness and excess in the big budget film world, Lori B took a hard left turn and enrolled in Columbia University's social work graduate program. Concurrently, she did a three year certification in Rubenfeld Synergy, an elegant mind-body therapeutic integration.
