Bio / Background

My philosophy towards music is 'why try to be like everyone else when can create something original that no one has heard before'. Making music is something I enjoy doing and gives me a way to express myself. I am certainly grateful others enjoy my work but if I was stranded alone on an island I would still be playing my guitar and composing new music.

I've been playing guitar for over thirty years and have been composing nearly that long. When I first picked up a guitar all I wanted to do was learn how to play the blues. But soon I was learning all these jazz chords and substituting them in blues progressions. It wasn't long before I was buying jazz theory books and composing my tunes.

In about 1978 I heard an album by Al DiMeola called Elegant Gypsy and I was hooked on fusion. About the same time I heard some stuff from Tangerine Dream and was blown away by the synth sounds and trance like rhythms they were creating.
