The first record by acclaimed roots rockers Last Train Home, this CD put them on the alt-country map.
Bio / Background
When Last Train Home recorded this CD in 1997, their first, they didn't know if it would be the only record they'd ever make. Frontman Eric Brace was then still working as a writer for the Washington Post and at that time they'd played less than a dozen gigs before hitting the studio.
But it was the start of something that would last and grow and when you listen to this you'll understand why Last Train Home caught on and excelled through 10 years and another 5 critically acclaimed records. The power of Brace's songwriting comes through on such gems as List of Sorrows, Angelina, Long Time Gone and more.
The critics got it right away: "Last Train Home's eponymous debut album resonates with love songs, more often than not the sad, haunting and unresolved kind. It's the stuff of great country music, of course, but the band is careful not to let unruly honky-tonk romps get in the way of tortured or torchy heartache."
