This E.P. Has the instant charm to catch the most elusive of drifting listeners, the lyric storytelling to reel them in, and the smart musical complexity to keep them coming back for more.
Bio / Background
We're not scared of the industry below which we are crawling about. We're not scared of the thousands of other bands among which we are crawling. We're not scared of the "there's nothing new under the sun" sydrome. In fact, we embrace it. The other day I listened to Let It Be and thought... this is exactly what I want in music. I thought: precisely where I hope to aspire they have already mastered. That could have been the end right there. But, perhaps creating art is not doing something altogether new, but doing something in a way that is unexpectedly unique and expressive.
Last Stanza began in the Spring of 2004, when long time friends, classmates, and fellow musicians, Ian Sloane (Bass) and Ben Lear (Guitar/Vocals) first met and played music with Zach Nicita (Drums). The bond fastened instantly and has been growing progressively tighter ever since. That summer they recorded a home demo called "The Optimum Silence E.P.", which they supported with various live shows that year.
↓ more ↓The following summer, Ben met Geffen Records A&R rep and producer Evan Peters, who saw something in the band and decided to produce a five song E.P., what has grown into "Sort of Green." The recording process took all year long, battling each other's busy schedules, but was well worth it in the end because now the band finally has a recording that, in quality and content, they believe finally adequately represents their skill.
So, your support is truly appreciated, and we hope you decide to buy the E.P.
Thank you,
Last Stanza
