Bio / Background
Brooklyn, New York born singer/songwriter, Angelique (Puerto Rican) and Atlantic County, New Jersey born rapper, La Cangri (Salvadorian) began their music careers as solo artists. Meeting through mutual friends in November 2005, they immediately respected and recognized each other’s talent and wrote their first song, "Le pago". Further collaboration produced "Una fiera como yo", and from then on, the duo became known as "Las Fieras", which loosely translates as "the female beasts". The duo chose this name to represent who they are: strong, fierce and fearless young women who are ready to make their mark on the music scene with their unique sound, style and unbridled high energy performances. Wanting to begin work on their debut album immediately, Las Fieras quickly got into the studio and recorded the infectious dance single "Baila", which is rapidly climbing up the reggaeton, urban and dance charts internationally.
