A Christian electronica/pop duo reminiscent of Imogen Heap and The Postal Service. From folk songs to dance music, from complex orchestral arrangements to pop singles, their debut album Aliens and Strangers has it all.
Bio / Background
Take the electronica/trip-hop styles of Frou Frou, The Postal Service, and Moby, mix it with soft piano and guitar, add in complex, layered vocal sections with lyrics which have a message of hope and you have Lancaster Transit, a duo born out of the frustration of the static, non-evolving state of the Christian music industry. Melissa Lancaster, the producer and vocalist, creates vocals reminiscent of Imogen Heap with words of hope in a dismal world. Zach Gannon, the instrumentalist half of LT, creates fusions of jazz, trip-hop, orchestra, pop, and electronica which mesh to form truly unique songs. Both write the lyrics and melodies together, forging a sound comprised of both members, not led by a frontman (or woman in this case).
