Heather Kropf brings bittersweet jazz-folk stylings to her songwriting, weaving deceptively complex melodies around the universal subjects of love, life, and loss. Rarely do people who hear walk away unaffected. Her self-produced debut recording, Sky (Reverie Records), combines her knack for sharp, memorable lyrics with her sensitivity to musical mood. Supported by a full band, this album ranges from simple to sophisticated, and is guided by what Pittsburgh Magazine calls "a heavenly voice somewhere between Aimee Mann and Jill Sobule". Fans call Sky "comforting at a cellular level."
