A great contemporary collection of songs written by Nashville writer, Wyndi Harp; Kelly Nolf lends her powerhouse vocals to these tunes and if you are a Trisha, Wynonna or Linda Rondstadt junkie; it's a must hear.
Bio / Background
Kelly Nolf moved to Nashville from Michigan in 1980 with her singing family, where they performed regularly at the Opryland Hotel. Kelly is a singer, songwriter and has always been referred to as "the other Wynonna". It only seemed natural when Kelly and Wyndi met in 2000 at the Stardust Theatre in Nashville, TN that they would quickly fill the part as "The Judds" in the Tribute to the Stars Show. Wyndi and Kelly both take their rolls seriously with accurate Judd vocals, humor and costumes. They have quickly become an audience favorite. The duo refers to themselves as "the other Judds" and once you see them in action you'll see why people take a double look.
Wyndi Harp is a native Texan and moved to Nashville in 1989 to pursue a songwriting career. She has had many independent cuts and is still actively writing. Ever since The Judds have been in the spotlight she has been mistaken for Naomi Judd.
↓ more ↓After auditioning for the part of Naomi at the Stardust Theatre in August of 1999, she has been a Judd Impersonator. She's traveled with Opryland Entertainment promoting the show at different venues and has performed at conventions, casinos and private parties. Wyndi is thankful for the opportunity to entertain with good clean fun!
Currently, Wyndi and Kelly perform regularly at the highly acclaimed "Memories Theatre" in Pigeon Forge, TN in a tribute to "Elvis & Friends". They also perform all across the country at conventions, festivals, casinos and special events. Kelly & Wyndi attribute their success with "The Judds Tribute Show" to the Judds themselves because people miss their music and witty humor. For a little while people get to experience Naomi & Wynonna through "the other Judds."
"Happy Endings" marks the collaborative debut effort of Kelly and Wyndi outside their roles as "Wynonna & Naomi". Showcasing the powerful, emotionally charged songs of Wyndi Harp and the stellar vocal performance of Kelly Nolf, anyone who is a fan of the marriage of great singers to classic songs is sure to find a bounty of treasures on this project. Several of the tracks on this disc have been on hold with major artists including Martina McBride, Sara Evans, and Trisha Yearwood, to name just a few. "What Little Girls Are Made Of" is already receiving airplay in strong rotation on radio station WTCM in Detroit. The project was produced by Kimo Forrest of John Michael Montgomery's band and his ear for surrounding great lyrics and great melodies with absolutely mesmerizing arrangements is unmatched in Nashville. "Happy Endings" has been a labor of love for both Wyndi and Kelly and you cannot help but be affected mentally, spiritually, and emotionally by this outstanding collection of perfectly crafted and infectiously performed songs.
