takes klez to warp drive with a contemporary sound infusion. Klezmer (a.k.a. Jewish party music)is a 500-year-old tradition that has enjoyed ongoing crossovers with its neighbors--originally Middle Eastern, Balkan, Greek and Gypsy music. This seven-member ensemble, made up of some of Philly's jazz, funk and dixieland players and directed by renegade cantor Jack Kessler, keeps the tradition evolving and rocking. Proving that everyone can be uplifted and have a whole lot of fun at the same time, KLINGON KLEZ concerts typically produce mass dancing in the aisles and occasional departure into orbit.
