Bio / Background
Keyontia “Ki Ki” Hawkins, originally from Baltimore, Maryland attended Baltimore School for the Arts. She later attended Juilliard where she expanded vocally from classical to, jazz, rock, and R&B.
After attending Juilliard, Ki Ki was a member of the four-girl group, formerly known as Pure Soul (sister-group to Dru Hill). Ki Ki has performed and toured with notable artists such as Billy Crawford; Amel Larrieux; Kelis; Ultra Nate; Ndea Davenport; Julie Dexter; Nona Hendryx; Angelique Kidjo; JT “Kool & the Gang” Taylor; and St. Juste.
She has written and performed (lead/backing vocals) dance singles “You Don’t Tell Me Anymore”; “Get Up”, “Thank You”; “I Cry”; “Have a Good Time”; “Higher”; “Feel”; “Keep It Movin”; and “Give You What You Need” under different names for Wakko Records with singles released in the UK and US.
