Bio / Background
Kevin O'Reilly was born on July 13th, 1969 in Chitose, Japan on the island of Hokkaido. He picked up the bass in high school, starting in a punk rock band named Wasted Sperm that played exactly two songs for one show and his 'career' was born.
Kevin insists on exploring and learning different musical styles and that has led to numerous strange journeys. Highlights have included playing with Steeplejack founder and solo artist Andy Sullivan and one-time Big Nazoo Puppet Theater member Jeremy Woodward as well as classical guitarist/lute player Seth Warner. For two years in the early '90's Kevin was a member of Love Cactus where he gained notoriety with his "...furious rocker..."(FACE Magazine) 'Divebomber', "...one of the catchiest local songs these days" as the Portland Press Herald put it. Currently Kevin is a member of the Dave Rowe Trio, exploring folk, bluegrass, Celtic and maritime music.
