Bio / Background
Performing with Jewel, Steve Winwood and 10,000 Maniacs within the first year of forming, the fiercely independent Katie Todd Band has burst onto the Chicago music scene. Katie, a singer/songwriter/keyboardist, is backed by a powerful trio, consisting of Travis Dow on guitar, Mark Cameron on drums, and Evan Cantor on the bass. The four of them create a fresh and edgy brand of pop music. 2002 proved to be a pivotal year for the band, releasing
their debut album, "Changing Faces" to much critical acclaim. The Katie Todd Band won the "Big Break" competition in June of 2002, which gave them the opportunity to open for Tonic at Milwaukee's Summerfest, which then opened the door for them to open for Steve Winwood at Milwaukee's 2003 Summerfest, Five For Fighting in 2004, and Pete Yorn in 2005. The Katie Todd Band continues to play regularly around the country, including an opening stint for the Wallflowers in Chicago this past summer. On Dec.
↓ more ↓20, 2003, the band released their first live album to enthusiastic audiences. The band regularly sells out legendary Chicago venues such as Schuba's and Double Door. Their compelling stage presence is provoking some of the most powerful live performances to be seen.
