Bio / Background

Nashville-based singer/songwriter Kari Smith has been gathering crowds with her fresh vocal style and contagious smile, whether it be local fans in a crowded coffee shop, or on stage performing for thousands. Rather than waiting to be discovered, Kari is reaching her audience through local venues while writing new material, and working with such industry experts as master engineer and entertainment attorney Matthew Roberts of Soundcone.com, and John Henneberger, producer and owner of Termite Lounge studio.

"As a vocalist, you can hear how Kari is mature beyond her years," says Matt Roberts. In addition to a full solo acoustic schedule, Kari frequently performs with other bands, such as Southern rock group Sin City Revival, and rock/pop group Leon Milmore, whose album "24 Days" (released 2004, JNH Music) features her backing vocals. Through this experience, she has also had the opportunity to share the stage with such national acts as Sugar Ray and Switchfoot.
