Bio / Background
Karen McNatt- Sweet Lovin'
Karen McNatt has been a welcome addition to the Nashville songwriter scene, with her fresh and honest approach to Country Music. She is a performing Songwriter, usually seen in a duo with her husband, and fellow Nashville writer, Don McNatt. Her voice is true and as sweet as the title of her first solo CD. Her songs speak to real people, about real situations, which is what country songs should always be about. Her melodies pay tribute to tradition, making it obvious that she has a wealth of exposure to great music in her background, but still she stays an original, delivering those ingredients in her own unique way. SMPLZAT Songs (ASCAP) proudly claims her as a writer
Karen's song "Say Good Morning to your Angel"has been passed via Email, and CD copies have been burned, via internet, through all ranks of the Marine Corps, and to many family members of Marines now serving in Iraq.
↓ more ↓Her son was there when she wrote this song, and it is a heartfelt prayer for the safety of those in harms way. She was honored to perform this song for the Convention of Marine Parents, in Anaheim, California in 2007.
"Friday Afternoon", expresses the rush of energy for new love, and the anticipation of the weekend. With a sing along ending, it's a Radio's DJ's dream spin, around drive time on Fridays.
This CD features songs about love, marriage, children in your life, and of course, the sweet side of Lovin', but also takes time to explore memory loss in an older generation, and heartfelt support for her son in combat. It's a fine compilation from a gifted writer and singer, performed with some of Nashville's finest muscians.
Karen can be found playing Nashville songwriter venues, but also travels with her husband performing as a duo, playing their own songs, as well as great classic songs that they love. She is also on the combination CD "Better Late than Never" also just released from SMPLZAT where she shares the CD with her husband, for those who wanted to hear both artists from this duo on the same disc. Her great duet songs are there, including the title song on the LP. It is also available from CD Baby.
