Bio / Background
JUMP CITY BAND
The Jump City Band was formed several years ago by Kip London, lead vocalist and guitarist. Kip hails originally from Pittsburgh, where he played with a number of blues bands and then began a solo career in which he opened for the likes of Willie Dixon, John Hammond, Keb Mo and the Fabulous Thunderbirds among others.
Kip then moved to the Boston area in 1998 and after pursuing more solo engagements, he formed the band Jump City. A dynamic front man with a stinging lead guitar and outstanding vocal range, the
Boston Herald has called Kips presence "coolly straight ahead."
Holding down the bass guitar as well as occasional lead vocals is Pete Kelly. Pete started on bass at 13, and played his first gig at Black Daddy's at the tender age of 14. He's played in various bands since joining Jump City in 2000 and is accomplished on acoustic guitar and piano as well.
