John Sid provokes a reaction. From the defiant love of "For Loving You," the rallying cry of "You Can't Lead Me Down," the bold speculation of "If I Was God," and the threatening promise that "Hell Is Coming" to the plea for us all to have "A Little Faith," the command to "Let Her Go," the desperate question "How Many Times," and the harsh rebuke for the "True Believer," John Sid's incendiary lyrics and music inflame passions.

John Sid is a talented pop/rock singer and songwriter (with an international fan-base) whose music moves people's feet, hearts, and minds, eliciting emotions from powerful joy and bittersweet longing to savage lust and violent rage. It is music that has substance, appealing to both lay people and serious musicians. It is music found at the crossroads of tradition and innovation, sensitivity and aggression, melody and noise.

John Sid performs at loud hard rock bacchanals, and at intimate acoustic gatherings. Versatility is only one of his outstanding talents. John Sid continues to surprise and reward New York City audiences with a powerful sound encompassing musical maturity, stylistic diversity, and pop accessibility. John Sid proves himself to be a multifaceted and flexible performer, playing both electrically and acoustically oriented live performance sets to enthusiastic audiences. Despite differences in presentation, he has a strong individual sound - concise, well crafted, commercially appealing songs driven by powerful expressive vocals. In recent months, he has been playing live shows in various clubs in Manhattan and has completed recording and mixing a full-length CD.

John Sid, a New York City native, pays homage to the masters of new and old, and credits such dynamic artists as Chris Cornell and Ian Gillan as being influential to his vocal direction. John's concise, economical approach to song form and arranging and his reverence for melody are rooted in the work of The Beatles as well as the early material of Yes and Genesis. The heavier elements in John's music can be attributed to the influence of System of a Down, Tool, Soundgarden, Iron Maiden and Meshuggah, while John's experimental bent is evident in every song. Although well educated in the traditions of the guitar, John is never afraid to venture into new territory and utilizes alternate tunings and a flexible array of equipment as a cornerstone of his sound. John Sid's music represents a wide spectrum of powerful elements in rock music today, balancing the intellectual with the heartfelt in a product with commercial appeal. Although much if his sound lies in unconventional and creative devices (such as odd-meter time signatures and altered tunings), he still touches audiences in familiar, unassuming ways. John's lyrics express and examine the pains and joys of human experience and are presented passionately through melodies that are singable and memorable. As a fan once stated, "in his set there's something for everyone to identify with."

The new John Sid CD For Loving You features John Sid singing, and playing guitar and other instruments, as well as producing. Producer Mark S. Berry says John Sid is "very talented." "For Loving You" makes you want to get up and dance while still rocking hard. "Hell Is Coming" has a blazing riff, a sing along chorus, and lyrics that are timely. "True Believer" is upbeat yet sinister, dissonant yet melodic. "My God" rages against ignorance, intolerance and hypocrisy and puts an ironic twist on a common figure of speech. "The Red Priest Live NYC" is an instrumental John Sid arrangement of the third movement of "Summer" from Antonio Vivaldi's The Four Seasons performed in a heavy metal style. It showcases his band's virtuosity, John's love of classical music, and his skill at arranging a string orchestra piece for rock trio. "I'll Never Tell You" demonstrates John's gift for melody and powerful emotional expression as well as a depth of romantic sensitivity.
