Bio / Background

Jennifer Peterson exudes sensuality, intelligence, and spunk. Her song-writing style upholds a tradition of empowered women in music like Joni Mitchell and Carole King. She combines the subtleties of Sarah McLachlan with the pop-appeal of Sheryl Crow. Her powerful performance captivates and inspires audiences.

Jennifer's debut EP, released in August 2000, showcases a solid set of emotionally charged songs. Her lyrics are bold and melodies, contagious. The opening track, "Chained," is an upbeat tune that blossoms into a catchy chorus about a man trapped in love. "Only One" jams an infectious rock groove as she commands, "shut your mouth…get over here and love me." Sultry jazz and playful lyrics in "Sullen Eyes" provide a unique diving board into the final, cello-driven ballad "Loud Enough."

A native of Chicago, Jennifer studied music composition at Columbia College where she was forced to take piano lessons.
