Bio / Background
A young singer-songwriter with a Celtic upbringing, Jo Stevens has written and recorded her self titled debut album, which has been produced by award winning producer Steve Levine (of Culture Club and Beach boys fame). The Jo Stevens band are now on a second album and the haunting "Take Me Home" is being used by the charity "Funds For Ireland" in their campaign in the UK.
Described as a cross between Chrissie Hynde with hints of The Police with an underlying nod to The Beatles, Jo's honest and storytelling lyrics are a refreshing alternative to the processed pop that is so dominant.
Jo is also a featured artist on multi platinum French artist Benjamin Biolay's top selling album "Negatif" released through Virgin.
Jo has performed in front of an audience of thousands at both the Cowes week festival and the Bristol Balloon fiesta. As well as large outdoor festivals Jo Stevens band are performing at numerous London venues including the Borderline, Kashmir Klub and the Barfly.
