Pop music. With Help from the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame and the best musicians in Nashville.
Bio / Background
"In My Dreams", is a collection of songs that I have recorded through the years and finally put them on a CD.
I have been very fortunate to be able to work with great musicians and song writers since living in Nashville.
Take for example: "In My Dreams" is a song that I co-wrote with my writing partner J.T.Corenflos who is rated as one of the top two session guitarist in this city, last year he only played on 19 top 10 CD's in country music , and I'm lucky to call him friend, also on this track is my dream horn section, that's "Rock and Roll Hall of Famer", "Wayne Jackson" on flugelhorn who has played with so many great artist you have heard through the years from the "Memphis Horns", to "Aretha" and also the great "Jim Horn" on Baritone sax who started out with stuff like playing flute on "Goin Up The Country" by "Canned Heat" and sax with "Duane Eddy" on the song "Raunchy" and so it goes.
↓ more ↓"I get It From You" was something I started here at my studio "fullhouserecording", and later teamed up with "Ron "snake" Reynolds" one of the premier engineers of the seventies, eighties and nineties here in "Nashville" recording things like "Seven Spanish Angels" for "Willie Nelson" and was also behind the controls on a "Moe Bandy & Joe Stampley" recording "Live at Bad Bob's" in Memphis which I also played on for CBS. "Lessons In Love" was an idea that came to me while I was lying in bed one night and just had to get up and write, which I penned by myself along with "I Love You Baby", "Can't Stop", "Will You Ever Love Me Again", and "Jammin".
" Jammin" ended up being used as the theme song for A local Nashville TV show I appeared on from 1990 to 1995, called "The Saturday Morning Show", and was at one point nominated for a regional "Emmy" award but did not win. It was a fun song I had written for a local dance group called the "Nashville Bebop Association".
Which brings me to "Bebop Hop" I co-wrote with my partner "Chuck Robinson" a very talented singer songwriter who also appears on my label "fullhouserecording.com" also "You Changed My Heart" was done with another sidekick "Bobby DeGennaro" also at my label. "Run Run Jeanie" was co-written by an aspiring songwriter and long time friend " Bob Guillen", who unfortunately never had that hit but was a talented man who has since pasted away. Which leaves us with "Will You Dance for Me" which was written by J.T. and me.
Check out tracks 2, 5, and 7, on those I played all the instruments, and had a blast. Also I would like to mention my pal "Kenny Laxton", who engineered most of this, and also some other artists like, " Paul McCartney", "Patty Labelle", and "Robert Palmer", to name a few, also thanks to my friend "Ken Hilley" who still works at his studio, "Outer City Sound", here in Nashville. All in all I had some great fun and experience's doing this CD I hope there's something that you like. John Garr
