Bio / Background
Strummed acoustic guitars, shimmering electrics, intricate but steady beats, and sauntering bass lines provide the backdrop for a mesmerizing and beautifully sung song cycle that lays out the arc of a love affair, from the heady days of being in love, to disappointment and loss, to looking back, to longing for what was and for what is yet to come, to finally, a resolution in a place of peace and realization.
Musical partners since 1998, vocalist Jo Alexis, and producer/multi instrumentalist Richard Alexander, have collaborated on four albums together. The first, You Are Just Like Me (2000), explores folk rock stylings, textures and themes. With echoes of Sarah Mclachlan, Mazzy Star, and the Cowboy Junkies, it presents of song cycle of love, loss, longing, and realization. The second, Time To Go (2001), an EP, explores alternative country stylings, and the perennial country theme of : 'leavin' that no good man'.
