Bio / Background
On this CD we feature the incomparable trombonist Seymour Greene who played with the big bands including Jack Teagarden. "Trading eights" with Seymour is that awesome, king of klezmer, Seth Kibel on sax and clarinet. Seth really cooks with his hot jazz licks.
Marsh has taken her klezmer group and "Gone American" with her new jazz/klezmer cd Klezmerika Eklectika. Some tunes on Klezmerika Eklectika include: Let Yourself Go, I'm Getting Sentimental Over You, Star Dust, Body and Soul, Harlem Nocturne, It Don't Mean A Thing If It Ain't Got That Swing, and Just Squeeze Me.
Jinny Marsh's Hot Kugel Klezmer Band regularly performs in the Washington D. C. metropolitan area at Jewish community events and has been featured at the Kennedy Center's Millennium Stage, Library of Congress events and the Smithsonian Folk Life Festival. The band also performed in the National Folk Festival in East Lansing, Michigan and in the Lowell Folk Festival in Massachusetts.
