Guitarist Jim Head’s first CD as a leader, "Mind's Eye", features his original compositions and performances by Jim Vivian on bass, Owen Howard on drums, and Josh Rager on rhodes. Embracing the early influence of masters such as Jim Hall, John Scofield, and Pat Metheny, as well as contemporaries like Ben Monder and Kurt Rosenwinkel, Head has fashioned a voice that is vital, incisive, and uniquely his own.
Jim Head has made concert, club, and festival appearances across Canada, as well as the U.S., China, and Mexico. He has performed with such notable jazz artists as Sheila Jordan, Tim Hagans, Rob McConnell, Kirk MacDonald, Steve Slagle, Lew Tabackin, Pat LaBarbera, P. J. Perry, Campbell Ryga, John O’Gallagher, Kieran Overs, Jane Bunnett, Andre White, Bob Mover, Hugh Fraser, Remi Bolduc, and Doug Riley.
