Bio / Background
'Home For Christmas' was written in the run-up to Christmas 2003. The full studio version was recorded in JAM Studios, Kells, Ireland in November 2004.
The faster paced 'Santa Claus Got A Second Job' was written in February 2005 and recorded in the summer of 2005, also at JAM Studios.
'Home for Christmas (Christmastime in Paradise) presents only two songs, but what brilliant songs! John Fallon is an outstanding Irish singer-songwriter, and he truly knows his stuff. The title track is a true folk/pop wonder, marvelously memorable and sweetly seasonal. When I played that opening cut, I could not do it just once; I ended up replaying the song three times. The second track is a fun ditty about Santa's second job working on computers with his cousin Bob; despite his efforts to be "a regular guy," he still says "HO HO" on the sly.' - from review by Carol Swanson, www.christmasreviews.com, November 2005.
'Fallon has to be one of the greatest songwriters I've ever heard.
↓ more ↓Now's the time to encourage him; before the majors pick him up. Then again, I'm not sure they'd be able to recognize him for what he's worth' - from review by A-J Charron, www.guitarnoise.com, July 15, 2004.
John recommends buying the earlier (1994) version of the song 'Home For Christmas' (www.cdbaby.com/jfallon2) if buying electronically. The recording is the same but the mix and master is slightly brighter.
