Ridiculously hot beats. Sexy, sensual vocals and amazing lyrics. If Janet Jackson & Timbaland had a baby it would be this album.
Bio / Background
Just like a rose in a concrete garden, the lovely Jessi Jordan is bright, beautiful, warm, inspiring and welcomed.
In the spring of 2004, Jessi's talents burst onto the music scene with her music production of Frankee’s single ''F. U. R. B. aka F. U. Right Back''. Not only did she produce the record, she also lended her angelic tone to the background vocals. Jessi’s infectious voice helped propel "F. U. Right Back" to #1 on Billboard's R&B/Hip Hop Singles Sales Chart. The song was also #27 on the Billboard 2004 Hot 100 Singles Year End Chart. It sold over a half a million mobile ring tones and reached a radio audience of over 114 million people worldwide, certifying it as the #1 2004 female anthem!
No matter where she performs Jessi captivates audiences with her melodic singing, striking looks and sassy personality.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York to an African American mother and father, Jessi has been singing since she was two years old.
↓ more ↓Her father was a self made entrepreneur and ran a strict household. He instilled a math, science and business oriented mindset in his children from early on. Jessi spent much of her childhood inside her home studying and music became her comfort, her solace and her great escape. She recalls belting out classics by Madonna, New Edition, Whitney Houston and Deniece Williams to both entertain her stay-at-home mom and to make it through tough times.
Jessi was an exceptional student and after graduating from high school she was accepted and attended the prestigious Columbia University School of Engineering and Applied Science. After two and a half years of extensive study she realized she wanted to return to her dream and pursue a music career. Determined, independent, and resourceful, Jessi hustled to make a name for herself throughout the music industry. She was a reference singer, did showcases, plus researched and contacted many industry insiders in hopes of being discovered. In 1998, she met her production partner Ty Real who convinced her that with her talents, brains and ambition she could do more. She could create her own destiny and become one of the industries few women producers.
Her hard work and perseverance paid off. In 2001, she inked her first production contract with Arista Records and produced the club hit remix "Get the Party Started" by Pink. Jessi has gone on to produce remixes for the music industries hottest artists like Beyonce, 3LW, Amerie and Lil Flip. However, it wasn’t until 2007 that she realized that true fulfillment meant coming out of the dimly lit studio, out from behind the boards and stepping into the limelight where she truly began to shine.
Jessi's first single "You Are My Religion" is already heating up the clubs and blowing out car windows all over America. Its hypnotic beat and sensual harmonies make it an undeniable hit. Meanwhile Jessi is back in the studio producing and recording her debut album, "Girl, Interrupted". "This album is sooooo me... it's everything I have wanted to say for so long... about love, life, relationships and becoming a woman. It's everything I wanted to say but I kept getting interrupted!"
Now armed with experience, a great mind for business, a committed team, and undeniable talent ~ Jessi Jordan is poised to take her rightful place among Pop and R&B royalty.
