Bio / Background
Jem already has years of musical ability under his belt. After reaching grade 5 in piano and musical theory, he picked up a guitar at age 13. This has been his weapon of choice ever since, from his first band at 17 (Not With a Bang) through to Blade Chain (300 live dates, 1000 album sales through Andys Records and gigs and popular tees) and beyond. At 21 Jem developed an affinity to the bass, but as he was already on lead vocals and acoustic guitar in ‘Blade Chain’ and reincarnation ‘Faith’, the four string was left to his brother Simon in both bands.
Always writing original tracks, Jem has been gigging around the South from an age when he couldn’t even get a drink from the bar afterwards. Rekindling his love for the bass, Jem joined ‘Blah Blah’ for a year in the late 90s. He has since played party music regularly with ‘The Flintstones’ ‘til 2004.
