Bio / Background
"Among the Trees" is J-BALL's debut, 17-track CD released on his independent record label "R00T L0VE ReC0RDS" (December 2002). It's an album filled with melodic songs that help create a diverse fusion of Alternative Rock, Folk and Hip-Hop music. J-BALL's unique style of Singing, Songwriting, Guitar playing and Producing shine throughout the album leaving his listeners hooked.
Among the Trees was Written and Produced entirely by J-BALL. It was recorded in Austin, Texas at Clockright Studios during the hot Summer days of 2001 and 2002 (Assisted by: Bassist Bradley Corl, Drummer Shane Vannerson and Engineer Jason Richard). However, the album's concept manifested three years earlier during J-BALL's inspirational stay ''among the trees'' of Humboldt County, California.
Among the Trees is an emotional, musical voyage containing 14 catchy songs, 3-tracks of funny studio outtakes (with surprise answering machine messages), a cappella J-BALL flows and even a hidden track.
