He has played with Bob Mintzer, George Coleman, Bunky Green, Eddie Henderson, Conrad Herwig, Gerry Mulligan, Ira Sullivan, Brad Turner, and Bill Watrous to name only a few. Keith has produced successful concert collaborations with artists including Béla Fleck and the Flecktones, Terence Blanchard, Dave Brubeck, Kenny Garrett, Slide Hampton, the Heath Brothers, Dave Holland, Pat Martino, Eddie Palmieri, Sam Rivers, Maria Schneider, and Clark Terry.

Keith is a distinguished graduate of the University of North Texas (B.M., M.M), where he played in the One O’Clock Lab Band and was voted Outstanding Graduate Student of the Year, and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (Ed.D.). He has won countless high accolades as an educator and has taught at UNT, UIUC, Eastern Illinois University, the University of Northern Florida, and the Settlement Music School. Keith was named to the highest percentile of those already included on the “Incomplete List of Teachers Ranked as Excellent by Their Students” five times in a row and has been cited in DownBeat as “one the best teachers in the country.” Ensembles he has directed have won multiple, consecutive national Student Music and Blue Chip CD awards, including the sole winner of Best College Big Band. Keith is a member of the International Association for Jazz Education (IAJE), the Music Educators National Convention (MENC), the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, (NARAS), and the American Society for Composers and Publishers (ASCAP).
