On fire Americana with major guitar rock under and overtones, songs about livin on fire
Bio / Background
Pay your dues, put in your heart and soul, and you’re gonna get good at it.
Well, JAVELINAS RAGE at ROCK AND ROLL. With a 20yr history of making many records, record deals, touring regionally and nationally, starting their own record label, radioplay, and supporting some of rock and rolls icons, the four members of Javelinas within the last 3yrs have created one of the most formidable rock/Americana bands to hit the pavement…
Once upon a time, in the early 2000's there was a 5pc Chicago rock/alt-country/hillbilly-swag band called the Flat Mean Tires. They had an interesting 2 year run before a firey implosion took effect. During that time, they supported acts such as Bobby Bare Jr., The Blasters, Front of Truck, John Langford and could be regularly caught at Chicago's Hideout, Beat Kitchen and House of Blues. After the mind-numbing implosion, two of the Flat Mean Tires found themselves crawling from the rubble, a bit scarred but still hungry for the power of rock music.

Detroit native, singer/songwriter Chris McInnis & Singer/songwriter/rock guitarist Mark Grzelak along with the concrete-solid addition of midwestern rocker Dan Postlewait on the bass guitar and the Chitown via Boston route Chris Glynn on the drums, the group reformed under the moniker JAVELINAS in 2003. In the short year since the release of our debut disc, “Dirtbath” they've been blowing the doors off of the “up and coming” tag and have become quite a force growing steadily in the Midwest. Along with supporting the legendary Dick Dale on his two stops in Chicago in and playing opening game of the World Series in ’05, they’ve done some great festivals in Chicago & Midwest thru 2006, as well as rocking the legendary CBGB's in NYC just before it closed, played a VIP party for Rascal Flatts 2006 Chgo tour, Windy City Motorcycle Fest, Chgo '06, Wicker Park Fest, Chgo '06, Guinness Oyster Fest, the Midwest Music conference in Indianapolis, MEANY Fest NYC, and are continuing their club tour throughout our second record right into the festival season. (release date spring 2007)
The SOUND: Well, take about 30% of the Americana-isms Chris McGinnis and blend them with some old-school rock in the vein of the Kinks, Iggy pop, Tom waits, Amboy Dukes, throw that in a blender with a little Dave Dudley (6 days on the road), some great personal tales of twenty sumpthin' Detroit livin' as well as other vivid subject matter pertaining to just livin'... Fill the air with infectious riffage & accentuated accents by the Javelinas power trio behind frontman McGinnis, and just hold on. You’re gonna get on a ride you haven’t got on in a while... then get right back in line for another…
Oh yeah, and Danny plays a 1968 Fender precision bass.
