Bio / Background
NAMED ROCK ALBUM OF THE YEAR 2006 AND BEST ROCK SONG FOR "HELP ME" 2006 BY JUST PLAIN FOLKS. READ MORE AT WWW.JPFOLKS.COM. THANKS!!
Born in 1978, my father taught me how to play guitar at four years old. I had a vivid dream that year of standing on a stage in front of thousands of people playing my own music & making a difference. I have worked everyday since then to acheive my goal.I began singing in my brother's bar band when I was 6 years old & was playing keyboards for the group when I was 8. When my brother quit the band in 1984, I became a bass player practically overnight. It was truly my niche. I had never felt power like that before. I had control over the audience, command of the stage, & the power to overcome my own insecurities...all through music. I wanted people to leave my shows feeling every emotion possible and I worked on my delivery constantly...on and off the stage.
↓ more ↓Although I have had no musical training, I have managed to perform regularly and somehow channeled the creation of music from somewhere. I give it up to God for without Him I would have no possible way to play & sing this way...let alone know exactly what it was that I was supposed to be doing. He has a purpose for me and I have every intention of carrying out his master plan. Because of my passion for music, I believe I will have the greatest impact that way.
I have not been writing long, but have complete determination to be one of the best. I want to be different & unique, and since everything has been done, it's often difficult to create something new, but I will.
Like all new artists, you determine your style & genre, and since I was raised on country music, tapped into bluegrass, had a love-affair with the blues and R & B before I discovered the power of rock...I was really sad that I couldn't be them all. In alot of ways, I will always be all of those things & it comes through in my performances.
One thing stood out about Rock music that was unlike any of the other styles of music that I played-THE ENERGY!! It was undeniable! I'm addicted to it. Just like people are addicted to drugs, some need money, some choose alcohol, some choose sex....I choose music.
I want my audience to feel like they are in control of their own destiny. That they can make a difference. I want them to embrace this energy, take it & use it to make a difference for themselves. Find your passion & deliver it...that's why we're here.
