In a few short months he would be come the only first year band member to be put into the Advanced Band, he accelerated to the top. By the end of his first year in Junior High School he had played in numerous concerts throughout Los Angeles and Orange County. His passion for music transpired into an intense love of Jazz. The summer of 1994 Jarel created a band with two friends called Crescendo, by now Jarel was heavily influenced by Jazz. His role model was his father, James Posey, who was and still is a successful and accomplished keyboardist.
