Original, fresh, world class music from Colorado's Irish folk/rock masters. Since forming in 1998, The Indulgers have played the country over to wipespread delight from their Denver/Boulder homebase. If Celtic music of any flavor is your cup of tea.
Bio / Background
Five musicians of different musical backgrounds and interests met in Colorado and came together to form The Indulgers. Melding Irish, Scottish and American musical tastes to create an unique and evolving Celtic sound. Beginning a Wednesday night residency at Denver's FADO Irish Pub in 1998 leading to an amazing nationwide adventure, the band has stormed to the forefront playing Internationally recognized Festivals and Theatres while remaining a firm favorite in the home state and surrounding region.
Colorado based, The Indulgers travel the entire country, stops in the Western and Midwestern states of Kansas, South Dakota, Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska, Missouri, Illinois, and of course, Colorado. Venturing east of the Mississippi, they have played New York, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
↓ more ↓The band has appeared with Maura O'Connell, Dougie MacLean, Hothouse Flowers, Colm Hayes (Men At Work), The Smithereens, The Sawdoctors, Black 47, Wolfstone, Seven Nations and many more.
Awards include Hard Rock/Jim Beam Backroom Band Search for the Rocky Mountain Region, Ethnic CD of the Year 2000 Award and Celtic Song of the Year from Just Plain Folks, Westword's World Music Award, CitySearch.com's Denver's Best Band Award, and Hapiskratch Entertainment/RIFF Magazine - Colorado Independent Band of The Year 2002.
TV and Radio appearances in 2004 included KUSA,Channel 9 Morning Show, KFRC, KGNU, The Naked Stage and KBCO, Studio C and The MT Music Room. The Indulger's music is widely played on U.S. College Radio, NPR affiliates, Web and Satellite radio stations as well as Radio Scotland, Australian, Brazilian, Irish, French, Portuguese, German, Canadian, and Russian Radio Stations.
Coming soon, CD # 6 is "Out In the West". Inspired by the frontier spirit still found on their travels throughout the west, the songs on this CD reflect the past, calling to mind the hard working pioneers that settled this land, and perhaps an occasional saloon. No worries, however, that the Indulgers have drifted far from their Celtic roots, that will never be the case as it's the roots that hold fast.
The Indulgers are:
Damien McCarron - Vocals, Guitar
Mike Nile - Vocals, Guitar, Mandolin, Accordion, Whistles and Electronic Bagpipe
Renee Fine - Fiddle/Violin
Pat Murphy Jr - Cocktail Drum
Chris Murtaugh - Bass
