Acoustic Singer/Songwriter with a great Rock/Blues/Funk/Pop Band. A voice like Bono,Chris Robinson, and Dave Matthews. Lots of Heart, Soul, and Passion
Bio / Background
Long Island, N.Y., native Jake Incao began singing from the time he could speak. Influenced by such acts as Bruce Springsteen, Dave Matthews Band and Elvis Presley, Incao first picked up the guitar at age 15. After discovering he had a knack for songwriting, he took his voice and songs to coffeehouses and open mics all over Long Island.
Following two self-made acoustic albums, Jake (2000) and Melody Brew (2001), as well as a full band effort, Jake's Magic Pouch presents . . . Colors & Dreams (2002), Incao headed back into the studio in the winter of 2004 to work on a six-song EP, titled, Get What You Came For.
Teaming up with Grammy-nominated producer/mixer/engineer Steve Eigner, (Nellyville/What's the 411/98 Degrees and Rising), Incao recorded some of his best material, displaying his extreme capability in songwriting and versatility with powerful passionate vocals that soar over the music.
↓ more ↓Upon completion of the final mix, the EP was taken to New York City's renowned Hit Factory to be mastered by Grammy-nominated Scott Hull (John Mayer/Steely Dan), helping make Get What You Came For Incao's best overall studio effort to date.
Following the success of cd sales and positive support from the press, Incao landed solo acoustic supporting slots for Edwin McCain, Brian Vander Ark of The Verve, ex-Mott the Hoople singer, Ian Hunter, and ex-Soul Coughing singer, Mike Doughty, at Long Island's The Downtown, along with a supporting slot for Huey Lewis & The News at Westbury Music Fair. Soon after the Jake Incao Band was formed with skilled musicians, Vinny Costantino (lead guitar), Dustin Hickey (bass), Jason Fenichel (drums), and occasional help from Stew Ratzken (congas). Since early 2004 the band has played all over Long Island, landed gigs opening for Foghat and Dave Mason at The Downtown, and found a residency at New York Cities, legendary The Bitter End, developing not just their act, but a loyal fan base.
As the hard working Incao continues to develop, he is managing his band, booking gigs, talking with producers, entertainment lawyers, and major record labels, while writing new material and utilizing his insatiable drive to fulfill his vision of success.
